Caravaggio Oil Paintings
Caravaggio was born on 28 September 1571, death on 18 July 1610, was an Italian painter. Caravaggio may have spent four years as apprentice to Simone Peterzano in Milan before going to Rome in 1593, where he entered the employ of the Mannerist painter Giuseppe Cesari, the most popular painter and art dealer in Rome. His paintings combine a realistic observation of the human state, both physical and emotional, with a dramatic use of lighting, and they had a formative influence on Baroque painting.
