Albert Bierstadt Oil Paintings
Albert Bierstadt was born on 7 January 1830, death on 18 February 1902, was an American painter best known for his lavish, sweeping landscapes of the American West. Among the last generation of painters associated with the Hudson River school, Bierstadt, like Frederick Church and Thomas Moran, covered vast distances in search of more exotic subject matter. To paint the scenes, Bierstadt joined several journeys of the Westward Expansion. Though not the first artist to record these sites, Bierstadt was the foremost painter of these scenes for the remainder of the 19th century.
